Karín G. Díaz-ToroMs. Díaz-Toro has been practicing environmental law for more than 25 years, since graduating from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri in 1986.  Ms. Díaz-Toro actively participated in the promulgation of the amendments to the Puerto Rico Water Quality Standards Regulation and the Underground Storage Tank Control Regulations promulgated by the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board; the Regulation for the Appropriation, Use and Conservation of the Waters of Puerto Rico promulgated by the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources; and the Pretreatment Regulations promulgated by the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority. Ms. Díaz-Toro is a member of PRMA’s Environmental Work Group and chairs its Water Subcommittee.  She is also the chairperson of the PRASA Watershed Stewardship Initiative’s Stakeholder Involvement Committee. Ms. Díaz-Toro is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association, as well as a member of the American Bar Association’s Sections on Environmental, Natural Resources and Energy and on Administrative Law.
In April 2010, Ms. Díaz-Toro received the United States Environmental Protection Agency-Region 2 Environmental Quality Award for her contributions to the PRASA Watershed Stewardship Initiative.
Ms. Díaz-Toro is admitted to practice in Puerto Rico, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and in the U. S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.
